This is just to let you all know that I made a mistake in my telephone number at the apartment.  The one I gave you is, unfortunately, a working number and some nice person’s cell-phone number so I want to get this corrected as soon as possible.  My correct number is 503-232-0538.  The address Julie gave earlier for me is correct;

   5024 S. E. 30th Ave., Apt. 73, Portland, OR 97202.

I am at last in my apartment and getting settled and recovering from the pneumonia.  Hoping to see you all in the near future.

Update from David & Asa

Thanks for your ongoing interest in helping the Akha children.
 
We have 150 more children coming to the Akha Training Center on the 12 May and we have to build three new buildings to accommodate them and 75 new bunk beds so I have been very busy.

Some of the children are coming from Myanmar and have had their mum and/or dad killed. All the children are coming from extreme poverty lack of food and no education.

A Few 06-07 District 5100 Facts from DG Tom Jenkins

35 Clubs have been awarded a “Presidential Citation”  Including ours!

28 clubs have earned District Literacy Awards  Including ours!

9 Clubs have earned Zone Literacy awards

Our membership numbers are plus 91 through March. The District total membership is above 4000.  Our club is (net) plus 1

Our Foundation giving is 20% above last year.

There is still time to decide to attend the RI Convention in Salt Lake.

RYLA is scheduled for July 7th through July 13th, 2007. Don’t miss this opportunity to educate young adults in your community.


RIPE Wilf Wilkerson has scheduled a “Presidential Membership Seminar” in Vancouver B.C. August 10th and 11th, 2007.
