We meet on Tuesday mornings, 7:30 am, at the 42nd Street Cafe in Seaview, on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula. We are participating in RI’s Satellite Club program, so you can also join us on Tuesday evenings, 5:15 pm; the 1st, 3rd & 5th at The Adrift in Long Beach, and the 2nd & 4th at Adelaide’s Books in Ocean Park.
Our active club has many projects and opportunities for fellowship and volunteerism. Click around our site or, better still, join us for a meeting to learn more. Our blog (below) is a good place to meet us and see what’s going on.

And the winners are…..

Assistant Governor Carol Lynn Ockfen and Past President David George with the Peninsula Club's 600+ pounds of food donations. George was quoted as exclaiming "No Top Ramen, Men!"
It was a challenge we couldn’t resist: recognizing that supplies are low in local food banks this time of year, the coastal Rotary clubs decided to see who could collect the most food in the month of February. When our Peninsula Rotary club joined the challenge, we upped the ante within the club by having a “Men vs. Women” competition – and the food banks are the winners.
This contest was started in December 2009 by the Rotary Club of Tillamook and the Rotary Club of SW Pacific County Peninsula eagerly joined in. This year, the friendly competition between the men and women added to the fun and much to the delight of the female members, they bested the men by 59 pounds! Over 600 pounds of food was donated and will be distributed to our local food banks and the “backpack” program.
Last year, the Rotary Club of North Tillamook County was the big winner (while our club women ousted our club’s men) and enjoyed bragging rights throughout the year. We expect the Tillamook Club will enjoy winning back the competition they began. We know the women in our club will enjoy reminding the men of our 2-year winning streak! Best of all, a few families will be fed.
Ready, Aim, Splat!

It’s a FEBRUARY FOOD FIGHT benefiting our local food banks.
It’s club vs club! Rotary clubs from the Long Beach Peninsula to Tillamook have been challenged to collect as much food as possible during the month of February. The club with the most pounds of food donated wins the esteem of their fellows (and the right to gloat). Last year’s winner was the youngest club of the lot, the Rotary Club of North Tillamook County, who brought in half a ton of goods.
It’s the battle of the sexes! Our Peninsula club has taken the challenge a step farther and made it a challenge of the sexes, plotting men against women to raise the most pounds of staples. Last year, the women took the honor and enjoyed the opportunity to remind the men of their win. Rumors are buzzing that the men are hatching a plan to make this year their comeback.
Let the games begin! Please help by bringing canned and other pre-packaged foods to:
- New Life Church – Ilwaco
- Discovery Coast Real Estate – Long Beach
- Northwest Insurance & Financial Services – Long Beach
- beachdog.com – Long Beach
Mark your cans, packages or bags, so we know if you want them to be weighed with the gals or the guys!
All the food will go to our Long Beach Peninsula food banks the first week of March.
