Weekly Club Bulletin

Fellow Rotarians,

I sure enjoyed handing out checks in excess of $10,000 at Tuesday’s meeting.  I am in awe of the power of people with vision and commitment.  I applaud you!

Thanks to Nancey (for providing) and Lynn (for winning) a wonderfully themed  birthday auction!

Please do make a few minutes to stop in to see Sam:  Long Beach Retirement Center, North 8th & Washington in Long Beach.

We voted at the Board Meeting to support (drum roll, please!) the newest Rotary Club on the coast!  The North Tillamook Club will meet at noon at the Sea Shack in Wheeler.  We’re waiting to hear what the club needs, but would like to purchase and engrave their club bell and have set aside up to $300 for that purpose.

The Board also voted to sponsor a Loyalty Days Princess.  The financial commitment is $200; $100 toward a formal gown and $100 for 100 buttons we can distribute and optionally re-sell at $1 each.  The Loyalty Days Committee is accepting applications now and will narrow the field to 8 candidates soon.  We look forward to meeting ‘our ‘ princess and hope this association will serve as a nice bridge toward Interact.  If anyone is interested in hosting a table at the Dignitaries Banquet, contact Bob or Judi Andrew <bjandrew@centurytel.net>.

Emily reported that our Fundraising Committee will once again be hosting a silent auction at our installation dinner in June.  Start thinking now about what you will offer to auction.  Remember, your offering should tell the club a little bit about you.   The committee is looking for club members interested in working with River City School of Dance on a cooperative scholarship project and, of course, Oysters & Art preparations have begun.  Do we want to fundraise to support the Potato project?
