Club Meeting-Zach Forster, WDFW

Zach Forster is a Coastal Shellfish Biologist with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife.  He will be presenting, “Willapa Bay Oyster Reserves – 1890 to Now- Updated Legislation Funds Research Through State Oyster Sales.”   It covers the history of the oyster reserves and includes a little about the industry, the current management of the reserves and the research WA Dept. of Fish & Wildlife has funded.  If time allows, he’ll also present information on Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Harmful Algal Bloom Monitoring, whichs covers the work they do monitoring for biotoxins on Long Beach and touches on the razor clam fishery.
